Clay Arts Utah is thrilled to announce the 2025 Masterclass with Jason Walker. Jason is a Utah artist residing in Cedar City, Utah, where he maintains his studio practice and is a professor at Southern Utah University. Jason has lectured, taught, worked and exhibited extensively nationally and internationally in places including the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., and The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China. He has work in major collections such as the Fine Art Museum of San Francisco: De Young, and the Carnegie Mellon Museum in Pittsburg
This is a hands-on workshop. On the first day, Jason will demonstrate building techniques, with underglaze illustration on the second day. The pieces you build can be used for illustration the next day, but porcelain tiles will also be available for practice.
Black underglaze will be provided. Bring your favorite colored underglaze and small brushes, such as liners and flats 1/4 inch or smaller to try the techniques. Although Jason often works in black, those willing to share small samples of their colored underglazes will be able to exchange colors with others.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days.
We are Sold Out! Sorry we missed you.
